| WHAT COULD THE LEGISLATURE DO AGE DESCRIMINATION |
|
By Ralph Rewes
MONEY FOR SEX OFFENCE, NOT FOR AGE ABUSE.
In our sex-biased legal system, if one is young and female and entices a wolfy executive, she can sue him, his company or the state for a bundle of money. Defense lawyers will do everything to come up with a more than adequate money compensation to prevent a scandal that would damage personal reputation, company image, or the political career of the biggest responsible official no matter how much a settlement would be ripped off a personal income, a company profit or the public moneys set aside for cover ups. This is lamentably an acceptable practice in our system.
PLAYBOYS COVER HIS SCANDALS WITH YOUR MONEY.
In our age-discriminating legal system, if one elder is being discriminated against by a playboy-minded executive, and she/he dares to sue him, his company or the state demanding compensation not only or vexation, discrimination and loss of salary, insurance coverage he/she faces after being forced into resignation by unethical practice no matter now insignificant the settlement be, the individual, the company and particular the state with access to a large sum of public moneys will hold on and on, and linger and linger on the case, counting on the unfortunate(?) demise. The dead men dont talk, dont sue.
JUST WAIT. THEY WILL DIE BEFORE THEY HAVE A DAY IN COURT.
It is imperative that the legislation should consider these two examples of many other multiple circumstances, where aging is a factor against the victim and reverse the rules to make it a factor in favor of the victim. The time to for a case to be taken into consideration for settlements or court procedures should be in accordance with the age of the victim. Thus a proper legislation can prevent legal abuse, unfairness of treatment, and dismissal of a case waiting to be “solved” by demise of the victim.

WHAT CAN THE LEGISLATURE DO IN CASES OF CHILDREN THAT
DISPOSE OF THEIR PARENTS. |
Children who sick and tired of taking care of their parents, dragged them to some facilities, drop them there and never ever visit them or care about their welfare, should not only be responsible for what incident, accident or abuse their helpless parents may face. In fact, they should not be allowed to profit by suing an allegedly abusive, irresponsible or neglecting institution.
Not that these facilities should be exempt from a legal suit. But the proceeds of such legal compensation should go to watchdog institutions that care and fight for the welfare of abandoned elders a large number indeed.
One of the most appalling scene one can expect when visiting a Nursing Home or any other similar institution is not deplorable conditions that may or no exist, but the empty eyes of an elder whose children callously have abandoned them, in many cases profiting with the elders’ lifelong savings.
Bedsores, insect bites, broken bones, mistreatment do them in and the actual responsible child show up “appalled” and “in tears” ready to sue and squeeze still more money out of the body of the parent(s) The immorality of it all!
